Igbo Mandate Congress Reports November, 2015

It has been brought to the notice of Igbo Mandate Congress, IMC by concerned Nigerians and Ndigbo in the United States  that Mr Musa Gowon, the Igbo son of Nigeria’s former Head of State  from 1966 to 1975, General Yakubu Gowon has been released from prison courtesy of the magnanimity of United States President Barrack Obama. Musa Gowon is now in the custody of the United States Immigration Agency and is set for deportation so

Musa Gowon was borne out of a courtship gone awry between former Head of State Yakubu Gowon, then a Lieutenant Colonel and an Igbo Girl by name Edith Ike-Okongwu while he was still a bachelor. This relationship  between Gowon and Edith Ike ended in the heat of the civil war while the former was military Head of State. It is widely believed that the relationship broke off after Federal Troops bombed Aba General Hospital with NAF Napalm Bomb on July 14, 1968 killing  more than 500 patients.

 

Edith was said to have expressed disapproval with Gowon over the deliberate bombing of Biafran civilian soft targets and the romance was brought to an end. Prior to that, Edith Ike’s parents who had lived in the north for more than thirty years, hastily relocated back to the East in 1966 after narrowly surviving the pogrom which killed over 50,000 Biafrans, while Edith herself relocated to West Germany  on 30th June, 1967.

The Founder of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, retired Justice Eze Ozobu, has criticized the hate speeches and incitement to aggression as being portrayed by persons under the guise of Radio Biafra.

Speaking with Rev Obinna Aklukwe, Director General of Igbo Mandate Congress, IMC, who sought his views as part of the group’s jon-going consultations with Igbo leaders on how to put an end to hate speeches characterizing the new face of Radio Biafra, Justice Ozobu said that he doesn’t even know the person called Nnamdi Kanu.

According to the respected octogenarian, ‘I do not know anybody called Nnamdi Kanu. You said that his name is what? how does he look like? I have never asked anybody to use violence or incitement to achieve any means.’

 He threatened to take legal actions against anybody who associates him with any hate speech, aggression and unruly activities in any ramifications.

Also, his wife, a retired Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Women Affairs lashed out at those associating her husband with hate speeches as name droppers.

The legacies of the Ozobu family in IPOB and Ohanaeze will not be erased by rascals who have turned the Biafra agitations into rascality and bloodletting .

A former governor of Anambra State, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife has disclosed that the failed Major Nzeogwu-led coup of 1966 was never an Igbo coup, stressing that it was meant to install Chief Obafemi Awolowo as the Prime Minister of Nigeria.

He made this known at the second day of the Igbo-Israeli Economic Summit titled South East Youth Economic Summit 2016 (SEYES 2016) which ended in Enugu yesterday.

Igbo Mandate Congress foremost Igbo Intelligence based organization have received credible information from within the Villa and their foreign partners that President Bola Tinubu will not accede to the demands of the October 20th protesters for the release of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu.

 

Tinubu's inner circle sees it as Igbo colluding with opposition to undermine his government. They see it as blackmail.

 

Their position is that President Tinubu inherited Nnamdi Kanu liability from former President Buhari and its absurd that Igbos are blaming him for a carried over grievances.

 

As at 8pm October 20th, a decision has been taken that the judicial process will take its due course.

Therefore, any Igbo politician claiming to be posturing for a political solution is a liar. The protest has foreclosed anything like out of court settlement.

Now that the Free Nnamdi Kanu Protest is over, Ndigbo should guage how Nigeria reacts to their aspirations. It was majorly an Igbo affair, with handful of sympathizers from other tribes.

Igbo Mandate Congress IMC , foremost Igbo Intelligence based organization ,have condemned the operatives of the Nigerian Police for spraying teargas directly at a Catholic Priest, Rev Fr Livinus Udemba, at Transcorp Hilton area on the 20th of October, 2025 during the Free Nnamdi Kanu Protest organized by Activist Omoleye Sowore.

 

Rev Fr Livinus Udemba CSSP, , a Holy Ghost Father, was in the company of some expatriates and group of protesters from Ibadan who converged to give solidarity to the detained leader of IPOB separatist group, Nnamdi Kanu.

 

He also joined some clergymen from both the Catholic, protestant and other denominations who converged in solidarity with the protesters.

Igbo Mandate Congress IMC, Foremost Igbo Intelligence based organization and pressure group hereby wishes to inform Ndigbo worldwide that the first batch of Black Americans,, seven in number, who profess their Jewish and Igbo Ancestral roots, are set to visit Igboland on a second fact finding mission.

The second visit was a follow-up to the earlier one of October 2023, when they came and held fruitful discussions with the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Woldwide leadership on their Igbo Ancestry. They were personally received by Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu at his country home in Owerri in his capacity as the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

Igbo Mandate Congress has obtained the full itinerary of the visit which includes stopover at Lagos, Abuja, Government House Awka, and notable traditional institutions across Igboland.

The leader of the delegation coming to Nigeria is Apostle Dr Gloria Jean Harris, Leader Beth-el International Mission Newark, NJ   and assisted by Prof Elder Cynthia Marie Shefton, Adjutant Professor of Psychology at Essex Country College, NJ . The other five African Americans are distinguished professionals in agriculture, real estate, corporate business organization and manufacturing sector.
